Our thanks to volunteers - Tuesday, May 26, 2009
The Club would like to thank David Haar and his son Paul for assembling the team benches and attaching the wheels to our goals. The club purchased the wheels to enable our town's DPW, who do a great job maintaining our fields, to more easlily move the goals when it is time to cut the grass. Again, thanks to Dave and Paul for thier time and effort.

Goal Raising Party - Thursday, April 09, 2009
This season the ISC spent a considerable amount of money to purchase two sets of goals, nets and other soccer equipment. The goals had to be assembled and equipment had to be moved from other areas of the complex in order to prepare the fields for opening day. The ISC would like to thank those who volunteered their time to make it happen. Ken Beasley, Kyle Beasley, Matt Mowatt, Pete Petersson, Dave Haar, Richard Wall, Chris DeMarzo, Pete Smith, Mark Cramer, Tom Taglareni (the elder) and Tom Taglareni (the junior).
The ISC would be remiss if we didn't thank our club president, Tom McPartlin for the great job of laying the lines to create the field. It's a job which takes longer than anyone can imagine. This season the lines are actually straight.
Finally the ISC is grateful to the Independence Recreation Commission for their cooperation and support.

Introduction to the Independence Soccer Club LETTER TO CLUB MEMBERS The Independence Soccer Club was established as a 501 ( C )( 3 ) non-profit educational organization in 1993 with the approval of the Recreation Commission in order to offer a competitive soccer program not provided in our community. In 1996 the Independence Recreation Commission asked the I.S.C. to administer the Recreation program from 3rd through 8th grade. In the summer of 2007 the recreation committee voted to have I.S.C. administer recreation soccer from kindergarten through 8th grade. Due to community requests the I.S.C established a pre-k program the same season. The I.S.C is a self-funded organization which does not rely on taxpayer money to provide its program. The ISC is not a private club. The fall recreation program provides an opportunity for all of the children in our community to play soccer. Our travel program which runs from fall through the spring season offers the possibility for the more serious player to participate in a competitive environment. The ISC considers it to be a feeder program to Hackettstown High School. Our primary focus remains to develop the children of Independence Twp. into skilled soccer players in addition to the fun of experiencing team sports. The club maintains the position that we must put our faith and trust in “you” the community. We depend on the parent’s voices within our township to express that it is vital for our community’s children that fields and other amenities are provided to us for use. The Independence Soccer Club is a volunteer parental structure, which provides administration and supervision for the activity of community soccer.
